International Workshop on Materials for Sustainable Energy Applications is officially opened.
Adigrat University launched an “International Workshop on Materials for Sustainable Energy Applications” which will stay for three days until 24 Feb. 2024. Adigrat University and the University of Nottingham, UK jointly organize this workshop. Keynote speakers and paper presenters are drawn from universities in various countries; namely, Ethiopia, the United Kingdom,Senegal, UNESCO UNISA, and South African.
Excellency Dr. Kelali Adhana, Head of the regional Science,Technology, and Innovation Bureau, officially opened the workshop. Dr. Zaid Negash, president of Adigrat University, made a plenary presentation on “A general overview of the Economics of Energy.” During his speech, the president recognized the contribution of the University of Nottingham and expressed his hope and willingness to work in partnership with Nottingham in Energy and other areas of collaboration. Keynote speakers included Prof. Mohammed Henin, Dr. Zebib Yenus, and Prof. Malik Maaza of the University of Nottingham, Adigrat University, and the University of South Africa respectively.
A total of 14 papers are set to be presented and discussed in various workshop sessions.
The thematic areas of the workshop include advanced solar materials, energy storage materials, wind energy materials, bioenergy materials, and smart-grid materials.
