Research
Adigrat University is one of the newly established (third-generation) public higher learning institutions, established in 2011. It is situated in Northern Ethiopia endowed with rich history and diversity of natural resources. The University is devoted to addressing core activities involving teaching, research, and community services.
Adigart University aspires to be one of the leading higher learning institutions in these three mandate areas. As one of the core mandates, the university is committed to undertaking scientific research and demand-driven community services in different disciplines relevant to the current demands for growth and transformation. Besides, the University is working to strengthen internal and external linkage and cooperation in research, projects, and development activities that can benefit the community.
Currently, the University is undertaking research and community services grants, medium-term projects funded by national and international funders, and other development projects. The university is now restructuring the organizational structure of research and community service to improve and expand applied research undertaking and community service delivery that can contribute to solving societal, regional, national, and international problems. Besides, the university is committed to being the center of innovation, technology development, adoption, and transfer that could contribute to solving societal problems and support the zonal, regional, and national development policies. Overall, the university aspires to be one of the leading research Universities in the nation.
