College of Natural and Computational Sciences

The College of Natural and Computational Sciences (CNCS) of Adigrat University was established during November 2011 as one of the four pioneer colleges in the university. Currently, the College runs eight undergraduate degree programs (the departments of Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Sport Science, and Statistics) and seven specializations in graduate studies programs. With a total of 131 faculty members, 22 Technical Assistants and 21 Supportive Staffs are on duty. Besides this, the college also gives special focus to develop its Staff Profile Development by granting scholarship to its faculty and technical staff in both domestic and international universities. The college enrolled students in regular and continuing programs both in undergraduate and graduate studies programs. The courses offered in each field of study aim to produce qualified professionals who can take up positions in various sectors to contribute their role in building the competitive economy of the nation. To ensure the overall delivery of education in a standard way of achieving the desired level of competency in knowledge, skill, and attitude, the college has established a Quality Assurance office. In addition to this, the college has the office of Research and Community Service, which aims at ensuring that the college to be the center of Research by implementing and executing all duties and responsibility matters provided for the college. The unique feature of the college can be explained that the college had established a center for Science, Technology, Education, and Mathematics (STEM) Education which is a partial scholarship Secondary School for talented and gifted students competitively selected from all primary schools of Adigrat Town. The center was established by AdU for outreach (in 2006 E.C.)  and for science shared program (in 2010E.C) programs. Meanwhile, the college has qualified academic staff members with desired fields of specializations and it creates a conducive environment for academics, research, and community service activities. It is also striving to establish standard teaching and research laboratories. Click to download the Recruitment of Lower Managers Guideline for CNCS
