School Of Medicine
Adigrat University, college of medical and health science was founded in October 2012 to address national health policy and government development goals. Our medical school was one of the pioneer fields in the college.
The School of Medicine at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) plays a central and strategic role in strengthening Ethiopia’s health system, particularly in the Tigray region. The school of medicine has more than 107 well qualified and trained teaching and supportive staff members performing their academic, clinical and research activities. Currently the department is staffed with 1 associate professor, 41 assistant professors, 49 lecturers, 11 assistant lecturers, graduate assistants and 5 technical assistants.

Program Education Objective
- To educate and train medical students to become highly competent doctors with a strong foundation in clinical knowledge and skills, while fostering a commitment to life-long learning and professional development
- To equip graduates with the ability to deliver high quality, patient-centered clinical care in accordance with national and international standards
- To instill in students a deep understanding of, and adherence to, ethical principles and legal responsibilities in the practice of medicine
- To enable graduates to engage in scholarly research across clinical, biomedical, and public health domains, contributing to evidence-based healthcare and innovation
- To prepare medical students to actively participate in and contribute to community health initiatives, promoting public health and social accountability
