The Office of Research, Publication, Ethics, and Dissemination Directorate

The Office of Research, Publication, Ethics, and Dissemination Directorate at Adigrat University is mandated to coordinate and promote thematic and collaborative research projects that address real societal challenges. The University’s research activities contribute to the socio-economic development of the local community and the nation at large. For this purpose, the university has ten thematic research areas.

Research projects at Adigrat University are categorized into internally funded thematic research and externally funded projects. In addition to its internal initiatives, the University actively implements a range of externally funded projects in collaboration with national and international partners.

The University is committed to strengthening sustainable institutional partnerships to expand research and development initiatives that address pressing societal needs while enhancing revenue generation. In this regard, it promotes innovation, technology development, adoption, and the commercialization of research outputs to support national development and economic growth.

Digital transformation for better services

As part of digital transformation plan, the university has introduced an online system known as Digital Research Data Management System (DRDMS) in September 2024. The DRDMS is aimed to make the research processes, publication profiles, research ethics process, profile of external projects, and archiving fully online. It is developed based on the step-by-step research and community service guideline of the university.

These are projects funded by local or international funders and are conducted in collaboration with partners.

Journals

Adigrat University has two journals.

  1. Beles Ethiopia Science and Technology Journal (BEST-J)
  2. Sub-Saharan Journal of Business and Social Science (SSJBSS)

Capacity building/training

The University provides various training to its faculties which strengthens its operations mainly relevant to the key reform agendas in higher education including differentiation, thematized research, publication, research ethics and scientific integrity, digital transformation in research, and others.

Institute and Centers

The university has one institute and five centers aimed to undertaking thematized research, thematized and demand-driven community engagement and social responsibilities. These include:
