Adigrat University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with two Korean companies.
The agreement is signed among Adigrat University, T&C Korea and Camp Global. It is to establish solar energy and digital financing cooperation among Adigrat University, T&C Korea and Camp Global with the aim to develop and promote the areas of solar-based technologies under the self-financing model.
The objective of this memorandum of understanding is to establish the basis for a cooperative institutional relationship to encourage and promote technical trilateral cooperation leading to the implementation of research (demonstration) pilot projects in the mutually identified areas of solar energy technologies and digital financing after detail deliberations on the basis of mutual benefit, equality, and reciprocity.
During the signing ceremony, Dr Zaid Negash, President of Adigrat University, Gyu-Hwa Jang president of T&C Korea, and Seyoung Cha head of Camp Global have been presented. Dr Zaid Zegash gave brief historical background of the university in his welcoming speech. In his speech, he emphasized the carbon-based energy source should be changed by green sources. He also added the partnership agreement which is being signed with T&C Korea and Camp Global will help the university to consolidate and expand the good beginning on solar energy into a bigger level. Finally, the president said the university management is highly committed to the effective implementation of the agreement.
Gyu-Hwa Jang president of T&C Korea has given a short brief of their companies to the audience, and he said the company mainly works on the provision of electrification to the rural area as it is the main tool of economic activities. He also said the company is doing a lot in different countries of Africa mainly on solar-based energy.
