Adigrat University and Messebo Cement Factory PLC have signed a sponsored research agreement on 27/01/2012 E.C University-Industry Linkage is aimed at supporting the creation of the Science and Technology Innovation System. This is meant to build collaborative research initiatives that would be industry-driven, with the goal of technology invention, adoption or adaptation. The Innovation System stakeholders include; Universities, other higher education institutions, research institutions, industry, and community. And all parties can be benefited from the linkage. Therefore, based on the aim of University-industry linkage, Adigrat University, and Messebo Cement Factory PLC have signed a sponsored research project agreement on Construction Biotechnology Development. Dr. Zaid Negash, President of Adigrat University and Mr. Kibreab Tewelde, General Manager of Messebo Cement Factory PLC, have signed today an agreement on behalf of both parties. Moreover, Ato Esubalew Aweke, Adigrat University UIL director and higher officials from Messebo Cement Factory PLC were also part of the signing ceremony. Team of researchers from Adigrat University, University of Nevada, USA, and Addis Ababa University are the key research personnel and Dr. Kibrom Alebel of Adigrat University will lead the research team as a principal investigator. The duration of the research project will be for two years and the total estimated cost of the project is 6,665,394.81 Birr.
